Trekking and mountaineering in Afghanistan

Mountain Unity International is a non-profit organisation doing some great work in Afghanistan to promote mountain tourism in the country. It doesn’t bill its self as a tour company but facilitates to encourage companies and individuals to take up the challenge.

Mountain Unity is encouraging travel in the mountains of the Wakhan Corridor, a slim piece of land between Tajikistan, Pakistan and China. It was created by the British to ensure that Russia would not share a border with British India. The northern boundary with Tajikistan is demarked by the river Oxus or Amu Darya, the southern boundary by the Durrand Line.

Are you up for a real adventure?
